Question #187 Inspiration For Attractivity

From the first time I ever watched Caddyshack I was positive that Chevy Chase's character "Ty" had the right idea of how to interact with girls. Ty, combined with Bill Murray's character in Stripes, is still who I aspire to be like as much as possible in all of my dealings with the opposite sex.*

My question is: What fictional character(s) best-define your ideal on how to make other people attracted to you?

* Bonus: Is there a way to say "opposite sex" that is inclusive of gayness? I thought of "the sex" but I'm not sure this really works.

It's a combination of James T. Kirk and Brock Landers.

Harry Potter.

SWOON.

I'm NOT kidding, that tie, that scarf, those big green eyes, that tortured soul...I swear to god, does it to me everytime.

I could write a college-level Feminist Studies paper on this, but I'll just say it's a tricky question for girls, as most fictional female characters are completely boring and one-dimensional. In terms of attracting men, all they suggest is acting pretty, and being a blank soundboard for male neuroses. Exceptional female characters who aren't damsels in distress rarely get the guy...So my answer is no one.

Whoops. Totally misread the question: I meant to say Harry Potter is attractive to me; not that I use him for inspiration for seducing people.

Now that I've admitted my embarrassing infatuation with Harry, I will admit that I, in general, do not attract people.

Marilyn Monroe’s left leg was half an inch shorter than her right; so is mine. People used to say she had a sexy walk, and I like to think that I have a sexy walk; but its actually just awkward and doesn’t really get me anywhere with men.

I'm a married lady now, but the times when I was single I think I wanted to be a mix of Eve Kendall from North by Northwest and Holly Golightly from Breakfast at Tiffany's. I liked to be considered: a lady, sexy, smart, a little bit fiesty, and mysterious. Thank goodness someone married me; trying to be all those things was exhausting:)

I, in general, tend to attract the wrong sort. So if someone could point out what character I am being like, so that I can quit it- that would be rad.

I try to act like a combination of Zorro (antonio banderas or t. power) and the Jerk (steve martin).

For the bonus question I think you could ask "what fictional character do you act like when you try to act sexy?".

I just realized that it would be cool to act opposite sexy.

I think Ty Cobb is definitely a sexy role model. It's pretty much a combination of him and Indiana Jones (with a sprinkling of David Addison).

I mean Ty Webb, of course. Ty Cobb is some jock, I think. Ty Webb is the Chevy Chase character to which Joe refers.

I'd have to say Patrick Bateman from Bret Easton Ellis' American Psycho. What can I say, women love a romantic guy that’s into great music.

Ideally, I have to go with Holly Golightly as well. She's kind of a mess, but funny, totally adorable, charming and just lived in her own little world, making her mysterious to most people around her.

I also have to say Scarlett O'Hara. I love her aloofness and childlike ways. I don't approve of her throwing herself at a married man, but everything else about her kind of rules.

In real life I guess I am more like Amelie. Too scared to make any sort of move and instead pines away quietly in the corner. Bummer!
