Guitar Lessons, a new backpack for school (and various school supplies), and fees for my Beer Judge exam. Mostly I just want to a to spend time with family and friends, which I hear is free.
My answer to this question is always "nothing" or "it doesn't matter," and it's generally true.
I like ones that make a lot of sense, like gift certificates. I usually get these for Starbacks, movie theaters and/or book stores every year. Those are probably my favorite gifts.
But honestly, if I had the opportunity to push a button that got rid of all Christmas gift-giving for eternity, I'd do it.
I am with Jake except for the gifts he likes. I hate the idea of mandatory presents in general. I wish I could just buy presents only when I found things I thought people would like.
As a rule, receiving presents makes me uncomfortable.
For my friends their presence is my favorite present; for my family it is usually the opposite.
health care. unfortunately my parents said "health care is something you buy for yourself. maybe we'll buy you a new phone or soap or something". to which i responded "i don't need that shit. i need health care". and they said "too bad, we're going to give you whatever we want to give you, not what you want".
i too feel uncomfortable receiving gifts but i love giving gifts. i usually like what i get. this year, i would really like lower interest rates but i think benny bernanke hates the middle class.
I don't want anything. I already have more things than I want. For example I already have a Sonicare toothbrush, a basketball, a cellphone, a bicycle, a white suit, a rice cooker with brown rice setting, slippers and a tempurepedic mattress. That's like three times what I deserve.
Also, I don't believe in the divinity of Jesus Christ or even that he was born in December, and I sort of want the retail sector to collapse this year.
I want a Tempur-pedic mattress topper. I really, really want it. Other than that, I just want to spend some time with my friends and family that I never get to see. I love those fuckers.
Is Thadd buying all of us X-mas gifts? I'd like a big leather oversized handbag, giant sunglasses, a Bolivian poncho and a XXL Starbucks cup of coffee. I want to be an Olsen twin for X-mas. And Hannukah.
First off i hell of love christmas... i think its a great time of year... I don't really care that much about getting things, but giving presents feels good...i also get to see my family that i see not that often these days....its good times... and i am into it...
Anyways...So like i said... i don't really need anything at all...except for maybe a cheaper digital camera that runs on double AA batteries cuz i am going to be overseas and not wanting to charge batteries in between adventures...
I agree with Nate! I love giving gifts, and the feeling of this time of year. The house is all decorated, it always smells like cookies are baking, the smell of the fire in the fireplace, it's all so disgustingly wholesome. I love giving gifts too. I always have trouble waiting until Christmas to give them away. You guys are party poopers.
As for me, I want a big ass flat screen tv, because playing video games on a dinky tv with wierd burned out parts of the screen sucks. I also want a puppy and my own bathroom.
Here you will find a new question to answer every weekday. This is not a secret so tell others about it, eventually we will sell ads and use the money to buy ice cream sandwiches for everyone and when we say "everyone" we mean it literally.

We need sponsors for veryserious.org so that we can pay the bills. Paypal $5 to support @ veryserious.org, or get us the money some other way, and we'll run an ad on top of this page all week to thank you. Also make sure to include any directions you have for what you want the ad to say.

I'd like 3 months of my regular salary and the time off to play World of Warcraft so I can finally see what all the fuss is about.
"Oh I am so selfless I need nothing, Oh I am outdoing everyone in my public derision of receiving gifts..." Fuck that, I want an R6 racebike.
I'm easy - i'll take some solid full-time work that I can stand.

2) A Snowboard
3) Trip to Mexico
Is this list similiar to a 13 year old boy?
