Question #125 Dining

Where do you like to go out to eat and what do you like to order?

I like lots of different places but I usually have one thing on the menu that I order every time. At Andalu I always get the deep fried mac and cheese with a side of cheeses fondue to dip it in. Always. At Cafe Venue, the vegetarian sandwich with hummus and no avocado. And at this deli by my work, the falafel with mild sauce, but sometimes it comes extra spicy anyway. I used to love this one taqueria that had a lobster burrito. When they took it off the menu, rather than try something else, I stopped going there.

I basically eat at only 2 restaurants in New York and order the same thing every time:

Bianca (on Bleecker): Mussels to start and gramigna with sausage and peppers.

La Esquina (on Kenmare): 1 chicken and 1 steak taco ~or~ tortilla soup and an avocado/cheese taco.

I'm so hungry now I'm gonna chew on my desk.

I tend to get stuck on a single dish in restaurants. here are few:

lemon grass (thai, manhattan)
buddah delight

friend's place (asian fusion, manhattan)
bean curd shitake mushroom casserole

chef28 (chinese, manhattan)
hot and sour soup
spicy shrimp wontons

These days, I'm preoccupied w/ Curly's in Manhattan, which is unfortunate because I live in San Francisco.

The reason for the preoccupation is the veggie chicken buffalo strips. In fact, last time I was there I got the strips for an appetizer and the veggie chicken buffalo for my entree.

I like to get up early on a sunday morning and have a Messcan breakfast steak (carne asada) and eggs with rice and beans and at least two stiff drinks containing tequila. Then I take a two hour nap.

Veggie Grill in Irvine. Amazing vegan restaurant, I almost don't hate Orange County because of that place. I usually order a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, ranch dressing and a dessert, either a cheesecake or chocolate parfait. I'm so hungry now.

I just moved to northeastern Pennsylvania, and I'm not totally sure they have restaurants here. I used to like the lobster ravioli with capers in a SoCal place called Cafe Aroma.

I'm addicted to the Thai tacos at Siam Lotus on Haight in San Fran. When I'm in Ukiah I love to go to the Mutt Hutt and order the tofu with brown rice and a black berry shake. Yum!

I am in love with the veggie biscuits and gravy at the Pork Store in SF.

Yeah - live in Cali, can't stop thinking about Ben's Original Chili Half-Smoke and a chocolate shake at Ben's Chili Bowl in NW D.C..

Mmmm, shepherd's pie at the dubliner too. I love DC

When I worked in Emeryville I used to go to the 'world market' food court. Inside they had the 'crispy fry' Chinese place... they have the best Mongolian beef ever and I would eat it at least once a week. I'm even tempted to come back there even though there is no other reason for me to go to E-Ville.
