Question #73 Unethical Businesses

What is the most unethical industry in the US?

The Pharmaceutical Industry is the most corrupt, but its not totally their fault; they are so tightly woven in to laws, politics, vanity, and the market economy that it is impossible to be noble.

The worst is the insurance industry. The whole industry is based on profiting on disease, pain and death, even if they orginally had good intentions.

hah.. i was going to go with illicit drugs, but i guess pharma is up there too :)

I will give a more toned-down version of my answer, which was deleted upon my request after consulting with Phil:
The two answer above are moronic and not worth my scorn. Tabacco and faith based businesses are unethical...

I am afraid of Stefan crushing me but I feel pretty strongly that prisons are the most unethical part of American society.

I realize that they aren't strictly businesses but I think it extends to the business side of them (ie the more cynical of the forces that keep them being built, the people who profit from them, etc. pp.)
